Dominguez Show Cattle traces its roots back to 1955, when Ernesto Dominguez Sr. and his wife, Consuelo, established the operation in Mercedes, Texas. What began as a mixed commercial and registered herd raising Charolais, Brahman, and Charbray cattle laid the foundation for a program built on hard work, adaptability, and a commitment to quality.

The second generation carried that passion forward, with Ernesto Dominguez Jr. actively involved in FFA at Mercedes High School, gaining early experience that would continue to shape the family’s connection to the cattle industry.

Building on that legacy, the next chapter began in 2010 when Ernie Dominguez relocated to central Texas. With the establishment of a new herd, and a background in communications from Texas State and a Master’s in Public Administration from the University of Kansas, the program has grown with a focus on intentional breeding and forward-thinking decisions. Today, the operation emphasizes Purebred Maine, Simmental cattle, and Club Cattle, along with other select breeds, and remains committed to producing functional, high-quality genetics.

Equally important to our program is our investment in the next generation. We are proud to be actively involved with youth across our surrounding communities, supporting junior exhibitors and helping develop the skills, work ethic, and confidence that extend far beyond the show ring.

In addition to our breeding program, we provide services to cattlemen across the country, offering guidance, marketing support, and access to genetics that add value to a wide range of operations.

Now spanning three generations, Dominguez Cattle remains grounded in the values it was built on. Hard work, integrity, and a belief that quality cattle are the result of purpose-driven decisions.
